    THERAPIST

My name is Jaki, and I am a registered, qualified counsellor. There are so many of us who have feelings of sadness, loneliness, loss and frustration, and these are normal feelings and emotions. I have felt this way myself, feelings of depression due to bereavement, low self-worth and low self-esteem not knowing where to turn.

My therapeutic journey started with the loss of a significant person in my life, and I needed to explore the feelings and emotions that came with this. During this journey, I learned where these emotions stem from and why I reacted to certain situations the way I did. By allowing myself the space to explore these emotions with the support of a therapist, they allowed me to understand myself from a different perspective.

Since then, I have had the privilege of supporting young people who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety and panic attacks. I have also supported young people with disabilities, self-harm and suicidal thoughts. My aim is not about me fixing your problems but supporting you in your journey of self-discovery. I look forward to starting your journey with you.

I am Jaki and I am here to help.

    THERAPIST

Feeling lost, alone, or frustrated? These feelings are normal. I experienced a time when I felt trapped and hopeless, overwhelmed by racing thoughts and emotions. It was as if everything around me was a blur, and I couldn’t be heard.

My therapy journey began during a period of chronic emotional pain, during which I desperately sought answers. I soon realized that I already had the answers within me; I just needed a little help to uncover my feelings, understand their origins, and determine where I wanted to go next. After overcoming my own struggles, fears, and emotional turmoil, I found peace in helping others navigate their journeys. I aim to provide the support that would have helped me during my difficult times.

Since starting my journey, I have worked with various community-based groups, including the LGBT+ community, where I focused on understanding identity and addressing the internal suppression of long-term emotions. I have also supported military personnel, veterans, frontline NHS staff and their families, assisting them in managing the unique challenges they face in both their personal and professional lives.

I am Matt and I am here to help.

    THERAPIST (COUNSELLING TUTOR)

I am an experienced tutor and counsellor (PCL5) dedicated to supporting the growth, confidence, and professional development of aspiring practitioners. With a compassionate, student-centred approach, she has recently guided learners through to practitioner-level qualification.

I am committed to creating safe and supportive, engaging learning environments that nurtures confidence, professional skill, personal growth and reflection, helping learners build the skills and self-awareness essential for effective therapeutic work. This fosters resilience, ethical practice, and personal growth in learners, empowering the next generation of counsellors to make a meaningful difference

Alongside tutoring, I have volunteered for many years with SALT southwest, a service that supports adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. In this role, I offer a safe, validating space in which survivors can rebuild trust and reclaim their sense of self by healing the wounded child within at a safe pace.

My work with SALT enriches my teaching, bringing empathy, compassion & insight to practice. I believes nurturing both professional competence and personal wellbeing helps learners feel valued and inspired on their journey.
